Municipality of Dumarao is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Capiz, Philippines. According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 40,303 people in 7,993
households. It was originally founded in 1580 and officially established by Spaniards under the advocacy of Our Lady of Snows.

The Dumarao Municipality
Dumarao was established as
municipio in 1581, 60 yaers after the Spanish conquistsdores had landed
on Visayan shores and as an independent parroquia in 1960
with Rev. Father Pedro Porras as its pioneer cura parroco. The
earliest known presidente-minicipal (Municipal Mayor) is Jose Arancillo
